Fraser Murray

BirelArt Italian Easykart series Racer - 100cc Class

Fraser Murray
Accomplishments

Fraser Murray is an energetic, enthusiastic 14 year boy, who loves Pokémon, video games, Minute physics videos and archery. However, Fraser’s passion is kart racing! He was born and brought up in rural Nova Scotia and had to wait until he was 5 years old to start racing karts on his home dirt track. He joined Atlantic Motorsports Karters Association (AMKA) and Championship Kart Racers Association (CKRA) when he was 7 years old. He enjoyed considerable success as a young karter around Atlantic Canada. In the fall of 2014, Fraser and his family moved from Nova Scotia to La Spezia Italy for his Dad’s work. They will return to Canada in late 2017. Fraser has continued his passion here in Italy by competing in the National Italian BirelArt EasyKart series. He races in the 100cc Junior class (ages 12-16). We are looking forward to the 2017 season to further advance Fraser’s skills as a racer.

Time in Italy

Fraser is in grade 8 (tersa media) in Italian Public School... yes, in Italian! His first year (2014-2015 school year) was a tough one, but determination and hard work paid off.  He is now fluent in Italian language, something that his mum and dad are quite jealous off.  He enjoys roaming the narrow streets of Sarzana and the Cinque Terre. Fraser and his dad have made the trip to Modena and Maranello too many times to count!  This area of Italy is very rich in Motorsports, and Fraser and his dad are working hard to take it all in!

Fraser is currently racing in the National Italian BirelArt Easykart series.  At 14 years old, he is in the Junior/ 100cc category.  This category is for racers between 12 and 16 years of age.  The 2016 season was an incredible year for Fraser.  All the hard work and dedication in his Italian rookie year paid off this year, with a podium finish at the Tuscan Winter Cup (3rd place) and multiple top 10 qualifying and finishing positions. 2016 was a rough and tough year, just the way any national Italian series should be!  However, we look forward to applying what we have learned as we move into the 2017 season.
